MedData Services Exhibits at 340B Coalition Winter Conference 2/8/2011 Conference Brings Together Health Care Providers to Low-income and Uninsured

GRAPEVINE, TX – February 14, 2011 – MedData Services (www.meddataservices.com), the most widely-used, subscription-based prescription assistance software in the U.S., exhibited at the 7th Annual 340B Coalition Winter Conference, February 9-11, at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego. Co-hosted with the 340B Prime Vendor Program, the annual conference brought together many groups who provide health care and medication to low-income and uninsured populations including pharmacists, clinic directors, pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, retail chain pharmacies, insurance companies, AIDS service organizations, state Medicaid pharmacy directors and Drug Assistance Program managers, and federal, state and local policy makers and government relations directors.
The 340B Program enables hospitals, community health centers, clinics and other safety net providers to purchase outpatient pharmaceuticals at discounted pricing, thereby expanding access to care to low-income and vulnerable segments of the population. The conference covered the most recent changes to the 340B program and how new regulations and pending legislation will affect this critical program. The three-day agenda included a pre-conference workshop, breakout sessions, networking receptions, an exhibitor forum, and keynote speakers.

Don Kaker, president of MedData Services, and Matt Sobecki, vice president of business development, were on-hand throughout the conference to demonstrate how the company’s Internet-based program can assist in obtaining free prescription medications for low income and uninsured patients. Since its inception in 1999, MedData Services has become the most widely-used, subscription-based prescription assistance software and is heralded as the most efficient, user-friendly program available. To date, MedData Services has helped its clients receive more than $1.5 billion in free prescription medication.

“Affordable health care is a national issue right now and the 340B Program is one of the most effective means to obtain prescription medications for those who can’t afford them,” states Kaker, noting MedData Services is a member of the 340B Prime Vendor Network. “Organizations that purchase medications for their indigent patients, or seek reimbursement for inpatient services, will benefit from the cost savings that can be generated by the use of our industry-leading, Internet-based software program.”
